Welcome

Hope you will like my garden.
Planting : words for bulbs and plants, Gods' love and kindness for sturdy stems, poetry for healthy leaves, short stories for plant shape, help from friends for pruning, patience and persistance for beautiful blooms.
I am hoping and planning to grow a full fledged author, from this ground.

Viola Weeks 100 Years Old Passed Away Tonight

We lost a good kind friend a couple of hours ago. Didn't want to see her suffer.
She had many friends and family, who will miss her. She," couldn't see very good and hearing was a problem." so she took hold of your arm and you were a willing, captive audience. Her grip was strong. Talking was one of her favorite things, always interesting. The Fiddle or Violin playing will be heard in our minds for years to come. Her grandson has had her violin, for a couple of years, since she went into the Nursing Home. On her 100 th Birthday, Nicholas Inman and several of her friends went to Webco Manor, to celebrate with her. Otto Price, let her play his fiddle and we were afraid, "she didn't want to give it back, after she played several songs." She played for years with the OLDER AMERICAN BAND, in and around Marshfield. She was an Original Cast Member of the Webster County Opry. The Opry had it's 12 th Anniversary,in April 2009. Viola, loved the Lord Jesus. Now she is at rest no more pain and strife. Her mother lived to be 105 years old, we thought Viola would, too.

  1. Wow. 100 years old and still alert is a true blessing. My Grandma lived to be 98, and we all thought she'd make it to 100. Like your friend, she didn't see well, and needed an arm to hold onto to help her walk. But she was alert and vital until the day she died.

She still lived in Marshfield, in a double-wide trailer, after selling the farm a few years earlier.

At least we have the beautiful memories to carry with us forever.

  2. I bet your friend is playing the violin in heaven, entertaining everyone! Sounds like she lived a long, full life and had many great friends.

The Wednesday Breakfast Club(JEWELS)brought me many wonderful friends. Each one is Special. The Weekly Writers Guild is a very important part of my life. I am the leader, since Nicholas, had to give it up to work more hours. Thanks for passing the torch to me. Emma, Elsie, Claudette, Judy, Betty Jo, I enjoy writing  with you. New interest for us has been gained from joining with other writers at their meetings. Hope to gain lots of new friends there.
